We also bought puja items, coconut, fresh water and fruits from Sri Williputhur.

From Rajapalayam, Sri Williputhur we reached Thaniparai via Krishnan Koil, Vathirairipu.  The two mountaineers who had already told us about Thanipara stopped in front of the entrance of the Thani rock foothills to carry our loads and start climbing the square hill with Siddhas and Sri Mahalinga Swami in mind.  After worshiping them, the pilgrimage should begin.  We continued our journey in the shadow of the mountain trail as the hilly forests are full of trees.

Chaturagiri

Chaturagiri hill has a herb that cures many diseases.  Only those in the know  what they are.  There is a herb that cures diseases like heart disease, diabetes and joint pain.  There were only ups and downs along the way.  There is no main road or stairs to reach the top of the hill.  You have to climb the bomb rocks.  At some places there will be flat ground.  Then high rock again.  The route was marked with arrows so that it would not change.

Karupana Sami Temple was the first temple of the trip.  Small temple.  When we passed the Karupana Sannidhi, a family was there offering pongal to Karupana Sami and bowing to the Sami.  Two goats were standing with garlands around their necks.  It was ready to cut any minute.  We don't want to see that scene.  We quickly moved away from that place.

Vana Pachyamman under a tree next to the Karupana Sami shrine.  The temple that follows is Asirvada Ganesha.  Here we gave the young water abhishek items that we had brought and prayed that our journey would go well without any trouble.  Generally, Ganesha's trunk is placed to left or to right.  But here Ganesha's trunk was facing Chaturagiri hill.

Next to the Asirvada Vinayagar Temple is the Sri Rajayoga Thanga Kaliamman Temple.  We continued our journey after receiving the blessings of Mother.  As we neared Tapasuk Cave, we prayed to Lord Siddha and continued our journey.  The natural beauty during the trek was mind-blowing.  The stream running through the rock, the coolness of forest gives us a refreshing feeling.  After about an hour's walk we were surrounded by mountains.  Our journey continued amidst the mountains.  Even though the road was going to turn to the right, turn to the left, hill, ditch, we realized that we have passed all the mountains from there.

'புல்வரம்பாய பல்முறை பிழைத்தும்
தெய்வம் என்பதோர் சித்தம் உண்டாகி
தெய்வம் என்பதோர் பொருளது கருதலும்
ஆறுகோடி மாயா சக்திகள்
வேறுவேறு தம் மாயை தொடங்கின
தெய்வத்தை தேடி அடைவதே'

Manikavasakar says that when the thought comes and I search for the essence, six crore Mayashakti gather forces against me.  That is my position.  The body and legs get tired as you climb up the steep rock while holding your breath.  If you ask how much more, the loved ones who came with you will not get bored and say, 'It's here, if you cross that curve... that's all the place will be''.  It motivates us not to get tired.  I also told a story to my friends who had told me this many times.

Chaturagiri

A person from the town got off the bus to go to the village and asked the villager the name of the village and asked how far it was.  The village is next door, just a call away.  A km  It will be tough.  They kept talking and walking as if that village belonged to me too.  After a long walk, the village did not come.  Pattanatu Asami asked him that the village is still unknown.  He said, "Sir, if I call you, I will ask for up to two kilometers."  The friends laughed and said here we are.  In fact the break, the meal has arrived.  So I was the last one to go.

To avoid the fatigue of the walk, we had anuvas on Mount Shiva, meeting the Siddhas.

We used to share Sethis and things with us.  After about three hours of travel we reached Korakar Cave.  Korakunda is a vast region.  It is said that Goraka, Bogar's disciple, built a cave here and did penance.  Here you can sit down and eat.  One can keep looking at the beauty of flowing Arjuna river.  After a tiring swim in the beautiful stream near the rock, we finished our lunch there.

It was here that Dandayuthapani Swamy's idol was prepared on the advice of Bogar for consecration at Palani.  He has built a dam like a dam with his own hands and stored it in one place so that when the water is available when he prepares it.  That became 'Korakar Utru'.
